When I was in primary school our teachers used to tell us that if you wrote on yourself with pen, it can mess up your health. Is there any truth to that?

Your skin is your body's largest organ, and anything you put on it will get absorbed. I don't know if it would affect your health though. Maybe if you just write on yourself once in a blue moon it wouldn't hurt. But then again, little things like that add up to something big in the end, so...

i would question the risk of a onetime application of regular pen ink. Of course anything left on your skin long enough will be absorbed into your system. there are medicinal products on the market using this concept. ie the "patch". having prolonged or repeated exposure to certain chemicals/elements can be harmful

yes. in some sort becoz it contains chemicals like ethanol some other which gets absorb in our skin
