I know you can get the mushroom at the brick in the section with all the cannons and turn into super mario, so is there another brick or hidden something to turn super mario into fire mario. Those hammer throwing turtles are in world 8-3 and it is hard to get through all them without fireballs. Thanks in advance.

After going to the area many times, I too notice a mushroom around the bullet bill area as well as a multi-coin block. I have notice a block with a 1up and just enemies after the mushroom. There appears to be only one mushroom in world 8-2 despite breaking many blocks as I can. Sorry.
At least there are two mushrooms or flowers at world 8-3 and a star too.

i seem to recall a way to do that but you have to have a game gene to do it with...
