Maybe I did!
The message I would send would be "It'll all work out - don't worry. The hurt will go & you won't believe how sad you were!"
5 years ago I was hurting, my b/f of 4 years at the time had cheated on me. We had both moved to Japan & at the time I couldn't read, write or speak any of the language. I also didn'T know many people.
One day, not long after the break up, a "crazy guy" sat next to me in a coffee shop. He started to lightly knock on my head (as though it were a door). My first response was to think "Typical, why me? How am I going to get rid of him"
He tried to speak English, asking where I worked, what I did etc... I lied politely, while trying to finish my coffee.
Suddenly he put his hand in his pocket and handed me a small, blue foil packet, about the size and shape of a condom wrapper. He held it in my hand and said "For happiness - it will come". Then he left.
In the packet was a 5 yen coin with a piece of red string tied trhough the hole in the center. I later learned this coin is considered very lucky in Japan.
Immediately after that encounter, I felt better. In fact, from that day, the hurt became less & less. I met people, I did well at work and my life became so much better than it had ever been before.
A few months later I started dating a guy. I was still carrying the coin & wrapper with me everywhere!
About two years later we moved in together & I lost the coin. At first I was sad - but then I realized - my life had moved on so much from the day I received the coin that to hold on would be to not let go.
All this time later, despite the ups & downs of life, I am still happy.
There is only one point I regret: I had immediately dislike the "crazy guy" because he was different, I lied to him and thought only about getting away from him. I wish I could have given him the respect he gave me.
If I had to send myself a message I would do exactly what happened!

5 years ago, almost to the day I met a man who I thought god sent. Turns out it was a gift from Satan himself! So I would have a golf ball in the hole "after a hole in one" - mine of course - with a note attached saying This guy is a Looser. (Then I wouldn't be hurting right now) : ( I'll be OK give me a few seconds : ) ( I sure do miss him ).

get out! get out while you can! garnish his wages, he won't pay on his own. Oh and hook up with him one more time so you can have a handsome son. I would believe this even if Special Ed called me at 3 am

Well, if I'd have told myself 5 years ago that I'd be off meth and living a clean decent life now I'd have laughed at myself but it is TRUE, TRUE. Thank you, Jesus!

Don't do it!
Listen to your parents . . .
Really.
Hmmm. I would say write something in my journal that says, this message is from the future. Please read carefully. I'm not making this up...
