Emeril's in New Orleans.

Pecan crusted red snapper with 2 relishes
Potato "chips" with truffle Oil and Parmesan Cheese
(I forgot the vegetable, sorry)
Brandied Bread Pudding for dessert

Aside from the food, the service elevated this meal above all others.

Matsuhisa in Beverly Hills. My sisters had been there and tried their omakase, so they were raving about how great everything is. At that time I was working in Silicon Valley, so I made the special trip all the way down to Los Angeles to try it out, they were NOT kidding!! Matsuhisa serves some of the most innovative Southern American/Japanese fusion type food. Do not make the mistake of ordering the run of the mill sushi and teriyaki!! The way to eat at Matsuhisa is to order from the many Cold specials and Hot specials. We had:-

Kobe Beef, Black Cod in Miso Sauce, Chilean Sea Bass, Mushroom Toban, New Style Sashima, Squid Pasta, Lobster Ceviche, Tiger Eye, Halibut with Truffles, Scallops in pepper sauce, and some shrimp thing which I forgot...

Everything was AMAZING! The owner has since started a chain called Nobu, but NOTHING beats the original Matsuhisa in Beverly Hills.

The best meal I ever had was at a place called Medizona in Scottsdale, AZ. It is located off of Scottsdale Rd. near Indian School. I had a portabello mushroom and duck appetizer. The bisque was terrific and I'm not usually a fan of soups. My entree was grilled swordfish. The dessert was a creme brulee with a southwestern twist. Even the bread with different spreads was amazing.

Not sure this fits in US Dining out.

My best meal (other than what I cook at home) was in the Bahamas. The Princess resorts in Freeport have a resturaunt which served swordfish steak. I figured that since I was on vacation, I had better take advantage.

I have had some excellent seafood on vacation (Hawaii, etc.), but that swordfish steak was the best I have had.

without a doubt at the House Of Blues in New Orleans...I had the gourmet pizza with crab, spinach, feta cheese and asparagus. And for the apps, I had red beans and rice and I took home the dessert which was blueberry cheesecake. The pizza was the best.

Dum paya Curry (sheep's trotters marinated in exotic spices & slow cooked over charcoal fire)

'Dum Pukht Biryani (Rice cooked with diced mutton. This speciality cuisine is a combination of North West Frontier and 'Dum Pukht' style of cooking which dates back to the 1780's and was popular among the Nawabs of Awdah, an erstwhile state of India. 'Dum' denotes cooking over a slow fire and 'Pukht' signifies the purity and cleanliness with which one approaches the ritual of cooking. The exclusiveness of 'Dum Pukht' cooking lies in preserving the natural aromas and flavours of the ingredients, by allowing the rice, meats and vegetables to simmer slowly in their own juices.)

Sheesh Kabab (E- Condimented Minced Meat, roasted or fried, on Skewers)

Any time there is a Thanksgiving dinner at my house! :)

But that's what you mean....There was this one night, a friend and I went to a local pizza joint called Wick's. We couldn't decide if we wanted pizza or one of their killer sandwiches. So we ordered a bomb awesome steak sandwich, a small pizza with tons of good toppings and really hot wings and split it all down the middle.

Of course we had to take half of the food home with us, but man oh man, it was good....
