I would say Tomilinson first, Tiki Barber a close second. They are both great runners, receivers, and blockers. I have to say Tomlinson, though, because he's a few years younger and a little more explosive.

I do not think Shaun Alexander is the best, although he's a great runner. He runs behind a huge offensive line, isn't much of a receiver, and they often take him out in passing situations. He also isn't a good blocker, which is part of the reason they take him out. He's a runner, that's it.

The best all around running back for a real team is LaDainian Tomlinson. He is the most versitle and explosive. The best fantasy running back this year will be Larry Johnson. He will shatter records.

Probably Tomlinson since he can run and catch passes. That makes him the most complete. That being said, there will be several RBs with better years than him because Rivers will struggle.

Right now I believe it is Tiki Barber. He is durable, versatile, and a great back with many abilities. In the future, I think that Lawrence Maroney will prove to be the best back in the league.

i can give you the top 3:

shaun alexander (seattle)
ladainian tomlinson (san diego)
larry johnson (kansas city)

anyway, that's my opinion and i think you'll find the stats will bear it out. those guys go 1-2-3 in whatever order in every fantasy football draft i've seen this year.
