I'm going into my senior year this year. I'm kinda worried cuz I'll be working part time as well as taking 6 AP-type courses, being involved in extra curriculars, and applying for colleges. Any advice on how to handle it all and still have fun? Do I need to get really good grades or should I just have fun and get decent grades? any advice is great. Thnx!

I would quit my job except I'm working for a really good company that has great benefits if you've been working there for six months or more, so i want to stay with them in case i need those benefits when i go to college.
Also about my grades, I had pretty crappy ones sophomore yr (B's and C's) and junior year I had excellent grades (4.3 GPA the entire year, and hard classes. Are colleges gonna thing that's really weird and not accept me? ahh i'm worried and confused...

well grades are important but it is also important to have fun for yourself dont rush to adult hood just yet there is plenty of time for that when u get into college and out in the real world. i would try to stay in the A B average if ya can. if the extra activities is fun for you and not a drain then do them but if they are a drain dont do them because of working. You know what you can and cant handle only do what you know what you can handle if you really think you can not handle everything dont do some of the things cut back on some things. well hope this helps ya GOOD LUCK

Good job on taking the challenging courses!! Definitely the right choice. As for the part-time job, if it's not ABSOLUTELY necessary then don't do it. Spend the time studying, being involved in school and spending time with your good friends before you all go off to (potentially) different colleges. You should concentrate on very good grades, but that doesn't rule out fun. The more you learn now, the easier college will be.

Have a time management plan.
Know where you want to apply.
If your grades aren't that hot, just write a strong personal statement, give them the best sense of who you are.
Ask teacher for letters of recommendation..ask the ones that can give the college the best sense of who you are...ask the ones that know you best.
The fun will come along the way, if you get this done stuff asap.
I have a question for you: have you considered in applying for early decision or early action?
Early decision allows you to apply to only one school. If you decided to do this option, you MUST decide where you REALLY WANT TO GO. One you get accept it, you must agree to attend there and pull out your application from other schools that you are applying to. So, it is essential for you to visit the college campus and find out what you really like about yale and columbia. Early decision helps you get into college early without the worry. The deadline is like november so you better start working on the essay, resume and getting letters of recommendation.
Early Action: you can apply up to 7 schools, if not mistaken. the deadline is sometime in November, check with the colleges. This one, you get your decision early but you don't have to make your decision of where you wanna go until may.
I'm a volunteer college advisor in my community. So if you need any other advice about college..just let me know. Email if you want.
Peace, Dear

don't flake on the last year. u still must try to do well. i took a lot of AP's + extracurriculars my last year and yeah, it's hard to have fun and do well. maybe consider not working...or at least do not work in the beginning part of the year, which the colleges u apply to will see...they may not look favorably on ur application if u don't do very well.

Dude, your going to be a LOSER. Sh*t that's too much. Unless your like really smart. But good luck. Man I was taking AP English Literature. That was like so hard. And that was the only AP class I had. Imagine, if I had more. Dude you need to change your schedule. That is my only suggestion.

Do not take your senior year serious. You need good grades to get into a good college. With 6 AP courses you need to get serious. Hope you get good grades. Keep me informed of your progress. good luck!

I suggest just concentrate on study for now and have fun but you dont need to work a job. Once you have a good education, you can get a good job.

i think you should quit the job. that is too much stress that you are going to go through in the next couple of months with college applications being due and all your other commitments. now in the spring you get your acceptance and have to decide where to go, you take your placement tests and acceptance letters.
