Africa is often overlooked because it is not a profitable market even when the worst human rights violations are committed just like genocide. The United Nations should act on this mass murder of people in many African nations in order to put the perpetrators in jail.

The world except the United States doesn't usually get involved in messy situations where they don't think they can help. In Africa (you didn't say which country) There a so many problems with poverty and the horrors of it at the root of most, what can other countries do. It would need to be a job for one of the world orginizations, but it would probably not be taken on by any of them withouy being more specific. Like the cure aids operation going on there.

Why? Because we are too worried about ourselves. Apperantly it's okay to stop genocides in the middle east but not worth it in Africa. Now I'm not giving an oil argument, but it's obvious that we'd benefit more being in Iraq than we would in Africa (although I totally disagree with what I just stated- it is rather a general-not thee general view of society). It's in that way that we are selfish- but we do help out in some instances, just without as much effort.
Perhaps if money were spent in Africa rather than sitting in a secret bank account in Switzerland or we did peaceful acts such as sitting down with opposing political leaders so they can talk things in a mannerly way (like that's ever gonna happen- thanks Sharaon. You too Arafat). All we do these days is sopil ourselves and call eachother liberal commies or conservatists are racists or pray- just pray because doing that will solve everything- you have to make at least some physical contribution. Sure, you may have faith in prayer, but you also need to act. I may be far from or very close to Christianity but I know that if I where God/Allah/Buddah, I wouldn't just accept prayers without any contribution. Okay I would, but are you going to leave every last bit of work to one diety? obviousely it's not wokring!
Pray? Sure, I won't, but if you'd like.
Physically doing something yourself as well? Required.
The world has no intrest in Africa. At one time Africa was on top of the list with diamonds, gold, and other goods of that sort- but what would it benefit us today?
Peace? Hormony? Humanity?
It's too expensive.

Africa is over looked because it has nothing to offer to the USA i.e oil, agriculture, etc. We only deal with those who can give back. It's a two way street in politics.
I do not agree with any of the above. That is why we, as a people of this nation , need to unite together and help those needed. Like in Africa. Lets' do some good. Boobs instead of Bombs!

What do we get for helping them? Honestly, there is nothing there to get once a stable government is in place. Countries make more money selling everybody guns. For decades the people have been killing each other there, and when famine strikes too bad they stop till food aide gets there. Once they are healthy enough they go back to fighting again.
For the US, why should we interfere with another countries affairs? When we do, everyone gets mad, when we don't everybody asks why didn't we...
Pick one!

There is no attention given to Africa because Africa has nothing to provide America in return--no food---no oil---no mineral resources. Africa is afflicted with genocides, AIDS, poverty yet what does the G-8 consider a grand gesture off help? Wiping the slate of African debt clean. That's like telling your malnourished dying mother that her hospital bills bills have been cleared but theres no money to buy food!!!!!
People are dying of poverty, of AIDS but the world remains silent. The massacre of hundreds of people draws no attention towards Africa...but the kidnapping of 2 ISRAELI saoldiers leads to a war and the deployment of a UN peacekeeping force. Because of the lack of concern for the outbreak of AIDS in Africa, it is spreading like an epidemic. 1 in 3 Africans die of AIDS. Utilizing the desperate needs of the Africans for medicines, pharmaceutical companies often provide free curative drugs to patients, granted that they are willing to test new unapproved drugs before release in the global market. These people are treated as nothing less than guinea pigs, and their ailments force them to yield to such demands.
Amidst the poverty, disease and starvation, there are civil wars being sparked off everywhere. The hungry stomach forces a man to pick up arms to fight for his survival. Mind and body are sacrificed in an effort to save one's own life and to deal with the pent-up frustration of a hazy future. Yet the world chooses to stay blind to this emergency. The fact is that the United NAtions is powerless to do anything unless it has the approval of the West and America. And as long as peacekeeping efforts yield no benefit in return, America and the West choose to remain BLIND to the rest of the world!!!!

BEcause its muslims doing the killing. When muslims kill africans, nobody cares. Muslims have enslaved & killed 20x the amount of blacks that all of europe and america has in its history.
Take Rwanda for example. You think sudan is bad? Rwanda, 1,000,000 were killed with machettes and clubs in 30 days while clinton denied it was happening, and delayed all help!!!!!
Africa is ignored because alot of the bad guy there is armed children. Its hard to send adults to kill 11 year old converts to islam who are armed with ak74s. Their christian fathers killed by muslims, mothers taken by muslims, themarmed and made "the man" by muslims to fight and guard land for islam.
Somalia and sudan for example.

Because quite frankly nobody cares about the African people. They're dirty, disease ridden, and serve no benefit to mankind. Just my opinion.
