I love both! I have six dogs and I ride my own horse at a friend's house (It's her sister's horse, but her sister got married and moved away, so it's as good as mine), and I'm going to be getting another horse soon. I say again, both! : )

Of course a dog.
I would be able to choose from many totaly different breeds...They can be in the house... you can play with them, you can always treat them a bone if they do something good, they admire their owners and they can be your best friend when you are alone!
A horse have to stay outsaide and have no indicative feelings and emotions about their owners...

Horses, you can ride them, they are great companions, and my horses act like big dogs anyway.
