I love reading Anne McCaffrey's books especially the Pern series and I don't really like the Lessa character. It was great that she gave up Ruatha to Jaxom but she is a bit of a ***** to almost everyone. So what do you think? Nice or nasty

Well .. she's matured.

She was living a brutal life under Jax and survived as a woman who cleared the ashes from the fireplace.
And then she's torn from her life into a completely new one and worse yet, feels the fate of the entire world thrust upon her shoulders.
So, she has to suddenly be a leader and her people skills are mostly based on her ablility to 'push' some to get what is needed.

She's a hero.
And I agree, she's way too hard on those around her but they respect her as a leader in spite of being a woman. I mean, girls can't even be harpers in this society.

Some guys like nasty *****es especially if they look good in a low cut blouse. Lessa makes the story. I like her.
