It can help, but I'd try just washing my face more often before I resorted to products like that. I say that because my experience has been that skin produces more oil when it's dried artificially. But I have also experienced reduced oil production after using oil-based products, like cocoa butter. In that case, it seems like the skin detects that it has too much oil and stops producing so much oil on its own to compensate. But you can probably get good results from just washing your face, or maybe one of the creams designed for that purpose. It will require some experimentation on your part to find out what works for you. Good luck!
