an ellipsis I think, might want to check that.

The previous answerers who said "ellipsis" were all correct. Moreover, any phrase where words are left out, yet still understood, even if the three dots are not present, is referred to as an "elliptical" phrase. For example, when we make comparisons, we usually leave out the complete wording for the sake of conciseness, e.g. "He is taller than I", which elliptically omits the final words, "am tall."
