It is full of cows and grass.

Well it started back in the 1800s when people from this territory would stick tin cans in their butts. Since no other state wanted to be associated with people that stuck cans in their rears, they decided to give the freaks their own state. Originally it was called Cans-asss, but like Mormons and polygamy, Cans-asss-ians (as they were called in the day) eventually wanted to distance themselves from their roots and changed the spelling to Kansas so people wouldn't think of the perverts who founded the hideous state.

A lot of that grass is wheat. Next time you travel through the state, especially in the spring and early summer take a closer look at the fields that whiz by you in your car. That's the bread in your PB&J sandwich.

And the cows eventually turn into steaks, hamburgers, milk, cheese and other food products.... not to mention the leather in your shoes and belt.

Of course you might consider stopping and taking a closer look. Besides the "grass" and cows there are over two million people who live in Kansas. There's also a Chevy Lumina car plant, various airplane industry plants, quite a few lakes, rivers, the Flint Hills, Smoky Hills, Dodge City, University of Kansas basketball and Kansas State University football.

Kirstie Alley, Ed Asner, Hugh Beaumont, Gwendolyn Brooks, George Washington Carver, Clyde Cessna, Wilt Chamberlain, Annie Diggs, Bob Dole, Amelia Earhart, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Wyatt Earp, Melissa Etheridge and a host of others have all called Kansas home at one time in their lives:

Kansas is a lot more than grass and cows.... though grass and cows do play a vital role in Kansas and the world!

My best to you.

The cows and the grass are the most important things for a country.

While I really enjoyed Bill's answer, I'd have to say because of people like you.

Kansas and Missouri don't really see eye-to-eye. Something about you fighting for the South and Kansas owing allegiance to the North. Missourians reveling in Quantril's massacre of Lawrence.

Probably goes even deeper when you compare license plate slogans -- Land of Ahs versus the Show-Me State.

Yes, I did my research. I wondered why you ask such a question. Being a junior in high school somewhere close to St. Louis who's mainly concerned about dating, I hope you'll amend your question to show why you would ask such a question.....
