Catcher...because the catcher "signs" what pitch the pitcher should throw by what the coach "signs" to him or by the knowledge of what the catcher knows about the hitter. Either way the catcher knows basically where the pitch is going and what will happen to the ball if the batter hits it. The catcher is also the only one who can see base runners and let the infielders and pitcher know if they can "pick off" a base runner. And when the ball is hit the catcher is the only player who can see the entire field and can tell the others where to throw the ball.

Shortstop by far !! You are required to have great range as a feilder, you must have a cannon for a arm, be a high percentage feilder. If that is not enough you must run the bases well , be a very good powerhitter, and hit for about a 280 average . If you dont think this is true a rod was able to play third base, robin yount a former brewer years ago was moved to center feild and did so without missing a beat ! Other shortstops with arm problems are usually moved to either third base because it is a shorter thow, or to first basebecause they dont have to have great arm strength.

Catcher! Having to crouch all the time while your playing defense, takes a toll on the knees. That's why they change positions at the end of their careers. Then your considered the coach on the field, so you have to know more than other players on your team. Also you have to catch a ball thrown by the pitcher, at speeds of usually over 90 mph, not to mention some pitchers have a lot of movement on their pitches (velocity).

Definitely the catcher. He is involved in every play. A good catcher knows his opponent's weaknesses and has the pitcher throw the ball to get the batter out, or walk him to perhaps get a double play. He will often times go to the mound to calm the pitcher down and to discuss strategies. He has to be alert at all times and know where the ball is.

I have never had the pleasure of playing this game being in India where it's not really popular but having experienced sitting on the reserve bench, my guess is :
Having to sit on your own base,
Waiting for a chance to play ball,
Would be the most
Difficult position of all.

Catcher..... Pitchers only play one every 5 games, and position players wait for a ball to be hit to them.... Catchers are involved in the entire game and they wear the most equipment!

Catcher is the hardest position to play ,because you have to stay in a crouching position for nine innings you have to call the game and there is no relieve catcher when they change pitchers

catcher since it is one of the most physically demanding position which u r involved in pretty much every play from giving the signals to throwing out runners. also the catcher has to play half the game squatting in that uncomfortable position day in and day out which is the main reason y most catchers r slow runners since their knees r all screwed up
