I sometimes wonder this myself. I figure they might be bored. Plus, some people take pleasure in belittling other people, so they put in an "answer" saying that the question is dumb. Then of course, others want to add to thier points total for some reason.

Well some questions I saw was really just stupid or should i say a question that can be solved by common sense. For example : "Have you ever recycled a condom?" not saying it was dumb or anything, but why would you ask such a question. You can answer that by asking yourself. Sometimes the questions aren't stupid at all. For example, someone wanted their dream interpreted. Then someone commented its dumb. Its a dream so it will be unrealistic and fantasy since majority of your brain have such imagination. Some answerers have nothing better to do, bored, or just don't understand and call it dumb, or it really is dumb.

i do it for the points and sometimes the question is SO stupid and people actually answer trying to help when its completely obvious the asker is just trying to get people worked up. when this happens its just plain entertaining. and sometimes i just feel the need to mock them, knowing they are being stupid intentionally. mostly for the points though :o)

I don't give stupid answers credibility by responding to them. if everyone would ignore these people many would go away. Many are wanting a reaction, and people take them serious and give them one.

I do ocassioanlly personally mock an idiot though when I am in that mood (-:

remember: Make this a good day!

I was always told that if you ask a stupid question then you better get ready for an equally stupid answer.

often I answer them because.........if the question is important to the one asking, it deserves a sincere response. I don't mind if the asker intended for the question to be stupid and is laughing at my response.........he must need a laugh for the day...

Because some people don't have anything better to do, other than answering questions, even if they think it's stupid.

i think its mostly people who like to be online and *** around doing things like this but they're in a bad mood or just like to *** around doing things like this.
I have to admit....sometimes i get silly too and answer questions poorly or rudely....I'm not doing it for the points...just something to do. I've had a couple Q's and A's removed, and I have had some serious answers.
Its a little hard to control millions of people in instant messaging and its even harder to filter the garbage.
Just ignore them if you don't fele like you're in the ***** around kinda mode k.

I can't imagine answering a stupid question like this one....maybe in hopes of being selected best answer and receiving 10 points.
