its high because our government wouldn't put a cap price on it!and now they wont because they are fixing to start taxing the gas companies with a high tax!that i am sure the extra cost will be passed on to us consumers as well!and because to many people voted republican, last time!i hope more people will have sense enough to vote democrat the next time!

Politics doesnt have much to do with it you know how they say [Where running out of oil] For Instance in the 1970's they said we would be out in a couple years. Well its 2006 Hmmmm doesnt seem to be Happing. The reason why gas is so expensive is because the oil companies have to find more places for oil and we are well in supply but if we shut down the oil prices the mining would slow and then there would be LESS gas redially availible. Therefore raising the gas prices And no offense her but the bush crap he barly has **** autority about that. So gas prices are a VERY DELICATE topic. And this is the TRUTH!!!!!!!

The cost of gas has nothing to do with who is in the US presidential office. This is an issue of supply and demand. Because of how a free market economy works, supply and demand must balance out. When there is more demand is greater than the available in a certain market, as is now the case with oil, prices have to go up in order to correct the imbalance.
When prices go up, demand eventually goes back down.
The opposite is also true. When the available supply is greater than the demand than prices generally go down to restore that balance. In other words, the best way to get prices to go back down is to use as little gas as possible.

Gas is expensive because the people who control the gas "OPEC" decides the price of gas. I don't know if the unrest in the Middle East. Another reason is China now has a lot more automobiles and with automobiles you have the need for gas

Most of the cost of gas goes to different levels of government. It's a tax added to cost and the whole sum is taxed again as it goes from the wells in the Middle East, through different levels of retailers/wholesalers.
The higher the cost the greater the income for each level of government. Federal and state and in many cases, local governments in the form of highway money for communities.
Taxes work on percentages, not fixed amounts. There is greater income in a level of government by getting 7% at $4.00 a gallon of gas, than there is at $2.00 a gallon.
The government is made up of con artists who are very astute in re-directing your attention away from an issue.
'Oh, we're doing the best we can at trying to keep the cost of gasoline down... Now about global warming. I have been in the forefront on the issue of global warming and consider me old fashion, but..."
...Yea, right !

gas is a non-renewable resources
A non-renewable resource is a natural resource that cannot be re-made or re-grown. Often fossil fuels, such as coal, petroleum and natural gas are considered non-renewable resources, as they do not naturally re-form at a rate that makes the way we use them sustainable.
if gas is used by almost 6 billion people it will run-out

It's all a scam. They have a reason every time gas goes up, and sometimes the reason has nothing to do with the price.

do you have any idea how much it works to make a gallon of gas?
Pricecaps do not work
the government needs to stop taxing it
The real reason is because OPEC sets the price of oil and they have raised it

You can blame the war in the Middle East for that. In South Africa, gas cost R2.90 three years ago. Now its R6.80!
