I think it's an excellent idea. Just like the splitting of men and women in a prior season. I guess I really don't see why the media is making such a big deal out of it (besides publicity).
I can't wait for the new season!

This is sooo bad and so racist in it's own right. And there are a lot of people and groups who are NOT happy about it. And the fact that Jeff Probst, the host, was trying to find a way to say that it was not about race at all, it was just a competition.
That is great. Why don't you publicize lynchings while you are at it! Sick motherf-u-c-kers! And anyone on any of those teams that has joined and did not or does not get the picture or do not care, should not be told the "I told you so" by the a-s-sholes who thought of this idea when one of the groups happens to fail in whatever challenges. Sick. What a great way to turn back the hands of time with discrimination. Oh, joy!

HECK NO. i'm a white lady who ought to stroll OFF THE coach if i turned right into a contestant. imagine about what you ought to go by. first of all, each and every baby who has a prejudice bent in immediately ahead, jr. extreme or extreme college is going to apply this as an excuse to communicate about the "dumb black team" or regardless of the reality that different race. i'm from a very white area and we do not have adequate type in any respect. the prejudiced people in my section are basically going to FEED off of this! i'm somewhat dissatisfied about this and function already written in to CBS. first of all, CBS more effective constructive not have a martin luther king, jr. party this january, because his dream to make certain black, white, all hues conserving palms is carefully SHOT with this ridiculous interest getting stint. to honor him after dividing people of his united states can be a crying shame. 2d, if i have been a white contestant in this coach, after I were given back to the genuine international, i should be nicely-known because the white lady and how i dealt with different races, not that i became forced to compete like this, yet that i became prejudiced only for competing. there is not any thanks to be considered or remembered except contained in the arguable moments. if I were the contestant, i ought to refuse to participate in something, and on the first nighttime of vote casting, i ought to vote Mark Burnett off the island. 0.33, CBS is the jerk baby who faucets the bully on the shoulder and receives some different person in a wrestle, not in any respect worrying that he's the single which all started it, purely laughing because he did not get punched the way the possibility free different baby did. CBS isn't taking duty for the fights, false impression, and branch they're going to be sowing contained in the faculties, by technique of the watercooler, and bigger. you ought to not pay me a million of Survivor's own money to observe this season. so NO, i do not imagine this is a sturdy concept in any respect, i imagine that's actually IRRESPONSIBLE.

Tragic to be honest. So many people have come all this way to avoid segregation and here we are doing it in public with volunteers? It's sad. The only reason they did it was to drum up their ratings...survivor is up against some pretty heavy competition this fall. I'm personally boycotting the show and I hope others will do the same. Just to teach the big networks that there is such a thing as going to far to make money.

This is not racist. Racism is in your own minds. They'll be split by their ancestry same as the olympics are split by countries. They had men against women - was that sexist? They had old against young - was that wrong? Part of building a strong team is to find people who work best together. Generally speaking, people with things in common do work best together. Would there be a problem with splitting teams up by the color of their hair? How about people wearing contacts against people wearing glasses? Fat against skinny, tall against short? The world has got to stop worrying so much about race so much. Everyone is different.

I can't decide. I think it would be interesting to see which ethnic team will be the strongest, especially if it's one of the minority groups (yep, you can bet that I'm favoring one of them!). But at the same time, it's bad because we are not supposed to segregate by race due to all of the social problems that this created in the past.

Bad idea!!! People will become more judgemental and create even more stereotypes.

CBS only did this to cause controversy because Survivor isn't as popular as it used to be. So they hope this will increase their ratings this season.

Bad idea bordering on shear idiocy. They know everyone will watch the show because of the contoversy. It's all about money not entertainment. Most people would show executions and wurders if they thought it would get more people to watch. This show will only cause racism to grow at an alarming rate.

Great idea for the sake of controversy, which is of course all they're trying to create - not as if they've got some lofty sociological statements to make or anything.

But it will make for good entertainment, and more importantly fodder for thousands of water cooler arguments all week long.

good for ratings
i dont think the race thing is really a big deal. race doesnt matter if you are in a group of like raced people or a mixed group it all depends on how the individuals work with each other nothing ot do with race.
how ever is it wrong for me a white person to cheer for the white people? how about for black people to cheer for blacks? I often see a double standard there.
