FDNY will not hire you with a felony conviction.
The Army may take a chance on you. Talk to a recruiter.

Why don't you look into it and make sure that you're going to get your record erased before you join the army. I doubt the FDNY will hire you with a felony, especially one of that nature! Is there anything else that you're interested in?

No the military can not erase public records. Generally, the military is not interested if you have serious convictions. Depending if this was your first offense you can petition the courts to seal your records after a period of time lol.
The best thing you can do is get your life together, make everyday and every opportunity count. Go back to school to learn a trade. With everything inside you make every effort to stay on track. Good deeds merit self worth and respect from everyone. But, you will have to prove yourself worthy for a long time. Good luck!

even when the court say they "erase " your record, the government, including dmv, etc, has access to all your past mistakes, just so you know. so the best thing to do would be to be honest.. because they will find out.
