It would be best to have the tank of gas outdoors somewhere. Just in case there is a leak or an accident. The grill you can leave anywhere.
On the other hand, a leak or an accident, especially if you disconnect tank from grill, is unlikely. Don't leave it where anybody will sleep, and keep a window open slightly for ventilation.

It won't hurt anything at all. just make sure to turn off the valve on your tank just in case there is a leak in the gas lines on the grill. You don't want to use it inside though as heat does go up and will ruin your ceilings not to mention what the smoke would do. I would dust it off good first though so dust and grime won't fall off in your house.

I don't see a problem. Just make sure the tank is completely shut off and disconnected from the grill. Do not smoke around the tank!

How darn big is your balcony? Why not bring the grill in and leave the tank outside? Surely it could be moved aside easily. m

It is safe. Just make sure that it is totally shut off -- all valves closed tight.

It would be safe as long as it hasn't been used right before you bring it in.
