this is very true...the problem is all the connotations that come with being white and the once upon a time master race. Be proud but know that you will encounter negativity...just like any other race. If a black says he's proud, he is ALSO labeled a racists by many whites (or other races) who cry reverse racism and look upon him as an arrogant fool. Same for hispanics, same for asians, etc.

The world is confused right now. You can't be proud because other races will put you down for being racist, you can't be quiet about it either or your own race will put you down for being embarrassed. You can't win either way. This is true for EVERY race.

Hopefully one day people will be able to let go of history and move on. It's not like Africans, Aztecs, Asians, etc were living in peace, they also were doing the same before the European invasion.

My opinion as a minority is that I would like a white person to acknowledge that Aztecs, Africans weren't just a bunch uneducated losers running around with firebrands. Native Americans weren't sitting on a rock waiting to be discovered. Mayans had the first calendar and had already decoded the stars and anything scientific. Africans were kings and queens and had universities that many a people traveled to go and learn. I think once people start realizing this, minorities will feel validated and we can move on. The whole point of human emotions is to feel that you have value. When Europe went into africa and the americas, they took away this value. That's the wound that needs to heal.

Pride does not always bring advantages. Pride should be used to further one's development and should not be used for display. Pride does not know color of skin. It brings more harm to the person that shows his pride than getting friends.

Historically whites had the oppotunity to enjoy wealth. Only whites went about exploring other parts of the world and oppressed the locals. To their credit, we wouldn't be living in a world that is technologically much advanced had they not explored the world.

It takes centuries to assuage the hurt feelings of the oppressed. Why these feelings still exist today? It's due to the non-equality among populations of the world. The wealth are highly concentrated with few of the countries and deprived gets hurt easily when they undergo daily hardships of getting even a morsel of food. And when the wealth is displayed, naturally the deprived gets angry due to their frustration.

Today the world has become more open unlike in the past, however the ghosts of the past would always chase the present, unless we take some steps to spread wealth who deserves it than looking at pride and power and wonder why people gets hurt even when legitimately displayed.

This is just my take on it so don't take offense. Some of the things that whites have done in the past aren't really things to be proud of. When I hear white pride all that I can think is "So you're proud of slavery, manifest destiny, etc.?" That's just being completely honest. Also, seeing that the KKK uses White Pride and White Power as their slogan it kind of puts a bad denotation behind the phrase.

i think it's because "white" is not really a race. There are Scots, Irish, Germans, Ukranians, etc

No one seems to have a problem with Scottish Pride, or German Pride. But what is the White Culture? It's really nothing because a person isn't of white heritage...they are of British Heritage, etc.

So are Blacks allowed to have Black Pride? Yes because they don't know their heritage, and frankly they are not African anymore...so African-American just means that they are Americans with an African Heritage (but they don't know if they are from the Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Kenya, etc)

When I hear "White Pride" I think of oppression of others. That is my first thot. When I think of "German Pride" I think of Engineering and Technical prowess. Scottish I think of Kilts and music and dancing. Brits, I think of acting and comedy. Whites, I think of lynchings

sorry.

When I think of Blacks, I think of oppressed people...hmmm. Maybe they need to say they are from Ghana...that's better :-) I think positive things now

Just because your White... anything a White person does that has to do with race is considered racist... Doesn't matter if it is the same thing as what other races are doing... if a white person does or says it it's considered racist...

If you are in the US get used to it... it will only get worse especially as we become a minority in the next few years...

I think that most people that want to form any group that contains the words White, Power, or Pride, feel that they are better than other people.

It's OK to be proud of ourselves, as long as we respect other people.

I believe it's all okay. Further more, I'm tired of all this rasicm bull****. How often must I walk down the street, and watch every word I say, because I could get sued. I don't walk around calling african americans dirty names, or hispanics losers, but seriously, I'm sick of it all. Everything is being changed today because of it. Does anyone remember the story of the little black sheep? The one who didn't fit into his home? The school boards are rewriting the story because the word black is in it. Bull****. Let me say again, Bull****. The school boards are changing it to little rainbow sheep. Soon all of the gay oriented(sorry didn't know the appropriate way to state this) people are going to fight this, saying it proves they stand out from society, and they don't want to be treated differently. I have nothing against Gay or Lesbian people, but they brought this kind of attention on themselves when they started this. How could you not expect attention. After all of this, I'll scream loud and free, BULL FRIGGIN ****.

So what does everyone think about society now? What's happening to us? How long before the cultural diversity of America leads to the next civil war. One more thing, what's with all of this African American History month, and Hispanic History month. Why do we have these, but not a European History Month. If theres one out there, I've never heard of it, and my schools never heard of it. How about a Chinese History month? How long before we run out of months for all of the different races? Ha. Ha Ha. Ha Ha HA. This world going to the dogs.

Apparently we aren't allowed to have pride in our achievements. After all, we had slaves, you know. Never mind the fact that those who actually had slaves are about 8 generations past, and most of our ancestors didn't. Hell, some of us are from other countries where there was no slavery. We still are slavers. And so will all our descendants be as far as some black people are concerned. And the loudest of those people aren't descendants of slaves themselves, just fools who think they can profit from it.

Good Question !
I know who my ancestors were and I am proud of my heratige. If someone calls me a racist for that then maybe they are the ones with a problem. We are all equal in the eyes of God !
