Does anyone know the name of the monk who set himself on fire in protest during the vietnam war, or just more disturbing footage in general on Nam. We saw some along time ago like a sergent killing a Vietnamise guy and the blood poured out it was sick. Well any links would be great i have a report to do for history on the effects of war on people so thanks.

Sorry, I don't know his name. I remember clearly seeing the pictures when they were first broadcast.

One of the best historians of the war, in my opinion, was a guy named Bernard Fall. Amazon and/or Ebay probably has his books about the war, possibly some with pictures.

I did an image search for "self-immolation monks in Vietnam" and got 7 pictures.

Don`t forget the pictures of the 1 and a half million boat people that fled Vietnam, or the 1 million that drowned trying because we left without winning.
Oh yes don`t forget the 175,000 Montengards who were hunted down and slaughtered when we left..You`ll need pictures of them.
Don`t forget the reeducation camps.
Oh yes you need to include the killing fields of Cambodia where 2 to 3 million were killed mostly with baseball bats because we had given up and there was no one to stop it.

During and before WWII scientist in Japan, Germany, Britain, America, and the Soviet Union were all working on producing the Bomb. Just a couple of weeks before Hitler killed himself he sent the Japanese enriched Uranium for a bomb, along with plans to deliver it, via Submarine. We intercepted the sub in the late Spring of 1945 just in time to prevent it from falling into the hands of the Japanese who planned to use it on the West coast. The Japanese had already developed a dirty bomb. The Germans had also already developed a bomber that could reach NYC with the sole intent of carrying that bomb once it was fully developed and knock America out of the war. It was a race for the bomb and we won only by weeks. Think of how it would have been if we hadn’t. So get pictures of NYC.
