Terrorism is not controlled by any country or particular group with a particular objective which can be negotiated. It is engineered and operated by a group which has hatred for non-Muslims and those Muslims who do not fall into their thinking. Hence, to expect that such an organisation could be won over and dissuaded from violence and terrorism is too remote. What is apprehended is if the AL-Qaida could lay its hand on nuclear weapon, that will be the end of the world. There are many Pakistani Muslim scientists and few in Iran who could be purchased to lend the nuclear technology. Nuclear fuel can be procured from China, Pakistan and Korea. 2011 is a crucial year by which time it will be known as to what is going to be the next course of history.

The world will still exist, the question is will humanity?
If humans are no longer around, it won't be due to terrorism.
It will possibly be due to the reaction to terrorism -the terrorism that so-called civilized, righteous nations (such as the US) impart on other societies and cultures. The US does have some of the biggest sticks in the world bully arena.
Personally, I think we are going to overload the world and kill it softly with the depletion of natural resources and the decreasing "food baskets" of the world not to mention the possibility of catastrophic climate changes that over use of resources fosters.
We simply will not have enough resources or food to survive.
I can't remember who said this but it rings true ....
"The world will not die with a gasp, but with a whimper"

It would not be due to terrorism. It would be the will of God. but if this world finishes, God would probably build a better world , but this time he wont give MAN any power. He will keep all of it himself. Funnily, Does God have the power anymore, to destroy the world, because having given it to Man, Mankind is doing all the destruction. So May be he will devise says to destroy this world by Hurricanes, Earthquakes, forest Fires, but 2020 is not my best shot. God would want this World to suffer more and then strike.Nope not 2020 more like 2500 A.D. Lets make a Movie.

The planet will survive terrorism and all of man's follies. What is doubtful is whether man will survive them or not. The world is full of homo sapiens that even terrorism or the nuclear bombs cannot completely annihilate the entire humanity, without the exception of a few humans.

Yes, terorism has been around since man has been around;we will kill each other forever over petty squables because we are just animals highly adapted scavengers turned creators and war is not the end for everyone. Unless we destroy our race and earth due to terrorism.

The world, yes.
Humanity, no. But probably because there will be a major upheaval in civilization when oil, water, and food become scarce.
