Of course it's okay. In fact, it's better to have one. I would recommend at least the following three to have on your computer (all can be downloaded for free off of Download.com):
1. Spyware Blaster
2. Bazooka
3. SpyBot Search & Destroy

No, it is not ok. Mainly because having multiple anti-virus software running can slow down your system. Also, a lot of software won't run properly if you have another installed. I know that Norton conflicts with many other anti-virus programs, as well as some anti-spyware.

It's recommended that you just use one anti-virus software program. More than one usually results in one program or the other getting confused and thinking the other program is viral. So, just use one of your choice; two very good free ones are AVG and AVAST.
As far as the anti-spyware, use as many as you'd like; two free ones are Spybot Search & Destroy, and Lavasoft's Ad-Aware. Good luck,

First off.... Such programs like Spybot Search & Destroy are NOT for viruses.. they are for Spyware...
And no, it is not good to have more then 1 anti-virus on your computer.. BUT it is fine to have more then one anti-spyware on your computer, I prefer to have a few anti-spy programs.. Spybot Search & Destroy, CCleaner, Spyware Blaster and Lavasoft Ad-aware SE Personal are 4 I have on my computer (desktop and laptop).

U can use: Antispyware: Spybot search for And damage (loose) Antivirus: AVG own (loose) Avast (loose) Kaspersky (trial, will get rid of your viruses besides in the trial era) U will favor to uninstal any antivirus before deploy yet another, u can't use 2 antivirus classes similar time, that's a rule.

you can have multiple anit virus and spyware protection. it is usually better to stick with one because sometimes some programs don't work with other anit virus programs running.
