First, go to www.emuparadise.com, enter the site, click on emulators and download Visual Boy Advance. Then download the ROM or, to say, the actual game, for eg., Pokemon Leaf-green. Then Open ur Visual Boy Advance, Click on file, open, then open the ROM. Thats it.

Most emulator that you find in the internet wont allow you to trade pokemon between games BUT I know emulator that allows you to trade.
1) Download VBALink 1.8 LAN / WiFi edition from this site:
http://www.vbalink.info/download-gba-emulator.htm
This emulator allows you to trade.
2) Search the internet for free pokemon rom download. example of a site: http://www.gba-rom.com/downloads.htm
3) Then play!

IT IS POSSIBLE! You can search for Pokemon GBA Roms or downloads and a good emulator, e.g. Visual Boy Advance. You could even use LimeWire or another file sharing program. IF YOU WANT, POST YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS AND I WILL SEND THEM TO YOU!
Oh yeah...it is actually illegal!
