American: Shoot it. American nuclear weapons require a vacuum to operate correctly. Causing the vacuum to yield is sufficient to cause the device to fail safe. The primary explosive charges will not go off when struck with a bullet; even if they do, they will not detonate evenly, which will prevent symmetrical implosion of the pit. Moreover, modern nuclear warheads (W-88 and similar) use neutron generators, rather than relying upon symmetrical implosion to cause detonation.

Soviet weapons, however, will detonate if shot at. Do not shoot at Soviet warheads.

British warheads will not go off until served tea. Do not serve tea to British warheads.

Chinese, Indian, and Pakistani warheads will all go off someday, causing World War III to break out. There is no way to disarm the Asian warheads.

Israeli warheads won't go off until the US provides $10 billion a year in annual funding. Do not fund Israeli warheads.

French warheads will surrender.
