one live wire from battery to ignition switch,one wire to solenoid from S on switch for starter.one wire from RUN position to coil,one wire from other side of coil to distributor.that should do it.

The library should have wiring diagrams for an old ford truck with a 460. Lincoln continentals also used this engine
Go make a copy and use that.

i could explain this,,but i honestly think it would probably be one of the longest answers ever,,you need to find a Haynes repair manual on the ford trucks,,it should cover the wiring system for the engine,,as for the alternator,,you just run a wire from the hot side of the battery to the positive side on the alternator,,if your going with the Chevy one wire deal,,good luck with it,,i hope this help,s.

fireing order should be on the intake someplace. take the cap off make sure which way its turning boats sometimes run backwards.try and check how log the wires are to determine where they go and look at the ends the holes in the clamps. bring a pencil and go to a marina theyll help ya out
