When you marry a doctor you realize that you and your family always take second place to emergencies and the needs of others. Often the spouse of a doctor must run a home, raise children and cater to a spouse that is often very tired and could have to leave (or at least disappear on the phone for an hour) at a moment's notice - and so they find that life is a full time job itself.

On the other hand, people work to make money - people have a career to do something that they are proud of and want to do well. Career minded people will often want to continue, no matter who they marry - it is more a matter of logistics and who has time for what.

Still, marrying a doctor has been considered an accomplishment all on its own (and dermatologists don't have emergenices) - if you can land one that makes money enough for you to live a life of luxury, I say "Blessings to you!"

If you understood how hard doctors work and the responsibilities that thier wives have, perhaps you would not look at things that way. Most doctors work long hard hours, and many of their wives put much time into charities and other organizations. Just because someone does not receive an income for their work does not mean they are not working. Perhaps you should try helping out others sometime and see how "easy" it is.
