if a person is already in a sorority or fraternity can they switch to another sorority or fraternity? if their current greek life is unpleasant .. meaning their is no event to represent their letters... not enough members.. and that it was a new found sorority/fraternity... and their isnt much of bonding going on and not enjoying what the greek life should be like.. even after they've tried to bring life and recognition to their sorority/fraternity.. should they think about crossing over to something they feel they can associate more with?

It depends on what type of fraternity/sorority you are a member of and if you are still a new member/pledge or an initiated member. If you are an initiated member of an NPC sorority, you cannot join another NPC sorority, ever. But you are still able to join a non-NPC sorority, if they are ok with the fact that you disaffiliated from another group. The same goes for NIC fraternities.

It's really cliche, but what you get out of fraternity/sorority life is what you put into it.

i know of a guy that did, but before I left, I would try a little harder to turn things around.

If you leave the reflection on you is that you made a poor choice about joining in the first place. What drew you to the group? How do you know the same won't happen if you "jump ship" to another fraternity? You know the grass always looks greener...

Give it one more shot...see if you can inspire the group to raise money for cancer, or a sick child (that's maybe related to one of the members, or in the community), or a clothing/food drive for the poor.

or, sponsor a 3-on-3 basketball tournament among other frats

good luck

you could probably do it, but if choose to join another fraternity/sorority at the same campus chances are the other group will not give you a bid to pledge for them because you are already part of another organization. plus it would be disrespectful on so many levels.

You need to check the Panhellenic rules now, but 20 years ago, when I was in college, you could not do that.
