Tonight I saw two questions about smelly navels. Euw, gross! Why don't people clean them? I mean, there should never be lint or dirt or odor there. Who else cleans their navel on a regular basis?

Hmm, seems those who clean 'em do so with a Q-tip. Guess I'm brazen, I just stick a soapy finger in there, toy around with it, then rinse. I started with the Q-tip, but got used to a finger. Doesn't hurt a bit.

I clean my navel everyday. When I was a child (around 10 or so) I wasn't so good with hygiene and I got a tick in my navel (OMG). it got infected and I got sick. So now I never forget and I taught my sons to do the same. But I'm sure there are a lot of gross people that don't. Just watch the people that go to the bathroom without washing their hands after wards!!

I clean my navel everyday because it is very deep and is prone to getting very inflamed and painful. I don't know why it is so deep but I swear, it goes half way into my stomach! Weird...But I have never read to do it in a health magazine or in health class at school. It's something I had to do on my own. I'm thinking there are a lot of people who don't wash it thoroughly.
Having a stinking navel is disgusting!

The topic of smelly navels is just too weird to pass up.
How does one find out if they have a smelly navel?
You stick your finger in your navel and then you sniff same finger.
I usually wash all the places when I shower.

if you have a very deep navel you can get an infection in it and that will likely smell badly, men gather lint even if they shower daily if they have hair on their belly as the hair works like little hands pulling in lint off their clothing and the sheets. i dont clean my navel specifically, however i do bathe daily and i tend to spend about an hour in the tub. but then im a pisces too.

I clean my navel every day after I take a shower with a Q-tip. I think that is so gross.

Yes, most do....my bf does. I know, gross! But he's got a very shallow belly button, almost flush with the rest of his tummy. He doesn't clean it because he says it hurts when he tries to use a q-tip in those creases. That's a good question while we're at it....why are those belly button creases so dang sensitive?

Many people believe that it is self-cleaning. I usually go in once every couple of years with some Comet and a wirebrush...gets the crust right off!

i dont really know about most people but i clean mine with a Q-TIP that is really sick if they dont.i do it daily when i clean my ears after im out of the shower with alcohol
