Yes. And built bigger, taller and more grandiose than before. To do so would be the American way of sticking our extended middle finger into the terrorists' eye-- right where it belongs!

NO! The greatest monument would be a small intimate museum that celebrated each live lost with pictures, words, and reverence of the individual.
What the terrorists attacked was an image of capitalism. What the world, and especially Americans, should remember............the victims were working, heroic, VICTIMS, with families............full of life, hope, convictions, aspirations, AND inspirations.
Let us not cover the scar, let us look at that scar and really rever why we got it.
All scars have a story. Look at those on your own body. SOME , or at least one, are from something that HAD to happen.
NO! Not a new twin tower complex. Create a place of reverence and contemplation. A skyscraper to surpass the last, is just boasting.
A monument that is subtle and humble.........speaks volumes!

Some might think we cheapen that 'hallowed ground' by 'replacing' the towers. The towers can never be replaced, so I think new buildings there is a bad idea. Make a memorial, a monument. It doesn't need to be BIGGER or HUGE or "Mine's bigger than yours". That's for locker rooms. This is to pay tribute to those who died that day. It should be classy, respectful, and dignified. Personally with the 5th anniversary approaching, I'm kind of dissapointed they haven't figured it out yet and put something there. Going to see it would be a nice way to pay tribute.

NO, the best and greatest monument would be to extinguish the Islamo-fascist terror organizations in a clear and decisive manner. A manner that would leave NO doubt in the minds of the Muslim followers of the ideology of Islam that they must denounce terrorism and start ridding themselves, in a permanent manner, of those muslims who promote and enact MURDER/terrorism. Muslims must take action against their idiotic brethern to save themselves.
Will they? No, because most of them support Islamo-fascism.
The dead need no building for a monument, they need to be left in peace, after the monument of retribution is carried out against all members and supporters of Islamo-fascist terrorism. Allah demands it, Allah wants no martyrs, no suicide bombers, no murders, no fanatacism, no Muslim Brotherhood.... Allah has spoken... Allah wishes to see these ignorant unthinking people become civilized and productive human beings instead of MURDERS and IDIOTS.

No, I don't agree. My own opinion is that nothing should ever be built there again. It is hallowed ground now. More folks died there than at Pearl Harbor or Antietam. There are no shopping malls at Antietam.
It's about memorializing those who lost their lives. Here in Oklahoma, we didn't rebuilt the Murrah Building. We dedicated that space to the memory of those who perished.
That empty space in the heart of New York City will forever remind us of the loss of those precious lives. I don't think some new structure will do the same thing.

No. The greatest monument for the victims is to always remember that there are evil and biggotted people who are mad enough to kill indiscriminately so as to impose their insane ideas on others and that we will not give in to such people and their insane ideas. Hail to the free people of the world.

No. The reason they didn't build them again is because 9/11 exposed the safety hazards of super-tall buildings.
