anyone know what it actually is or what causes it?
its kinda gross, i've always wondered...

just old people, it is from osteoporosis.

One of my neighbors has a humpback due to some medical condition. The doctors told him it could be fixed with surgery but he is scared to get surgery on his back so he just has a humpback.

I've known very elderly ladies with a humped back from osteoporosis, a weakening of the bones that happens with age. Women are more prone to osteoporosis I assume because we loose calcium with menstruation and pregnancies.
So drink your milk now while you are young and strong, so your bones stay that way.

Old age and lost of calcium. I have seen a few. As women age it can cause it. I don't know how to spell the word. I'll try to google it

some old women get it because of calcium deficiancy. I know a guy that has it though and it does have a medical name but I forget what it is. Sorry

my Grandfather ..had a large one 4 years they even nick named ...humpy.....i never met him but i have seen pictures of him.....my dad started to get one 2 but passed away before it got bad.....osteoporosis....i think that is how you spell it......if u think it's GROSS then keep your calcium intake up before it happens to u

my cousin is like that! i don't know what causes it, although he does use it as an excuse not to get a job! and you're right, it is disgusting looking!
