is everyone in such a hurry that they can't check the spelling , or do they just not know how to spell? guess that's a pet peeve of mine!

It might be a pet peeve for you. But alot are in a hurry and don't take the time to check their spelling. I noticed its more common with the young ones today. Every word is cut down. I can't understand most of it. lol. My gramma would jump from her grave if she saw U instead of YOU. And 4 instead of Four. lol.
Ok can you check my spelling for me? lol.

A lot of people probably just do not know how to spell anymore, which is a sad thought! It's a pet peeve of mine too, though, so I feel your pain!

Am I being incredibly picky, or does nobody correctly use capital letters at the beginning of sentences any more?

Maybe because we are communicating with people from all over the world. People who's English is not their first language so it make spelling correctly harder.
Plus we do have lazy people, we have people who are in a hurry, people with special needs etc...
One never knows

Spelling is a problem with alot of people. I'm generally pretty good, but sometimes even I make mistakes. What really bugs me, though, is people who can't capitolize properly! That is a pet peeve of mine! lol

How utterly boring to live your life by 'Check Spelling'. Lighten up. If spelling is the worst problem somebody has that would be of enormous benefit to all mankind.

Peeve of mine too. Poor grammer and poor sentance structure and as for the substituting of words for random letters and numbers, complete waste of education is you ask me. Modern culture has a lot to anwser for these days.

no one does but hey- i say that yeh sum ppl have issues with spelling but if you can tell what word they mean then you can just ignore it or assume it was a typo. or maybe their just trying to shorten up words but still get the message across, like what i did with 'some' up there changing it to 'sum'. i know it's not correct but i do it online and while iming because it's faster. i usually say 'becuz' too just because it's more convenient.

You know, it really doesn't matter if you know how to spell, there are a lot of people that don't, that's why there is Spell Check. Use it!!!

I think people just get too excited when they are asking a question so they forget to spell correctly. I get irritated when I see misspellings in questions, but hey, we all do it sometimes.
