I think Mac rocks I will probably always have one as my primary computer.
I don't really care if you don't like Mac, I just want to know why?

I have to admit that the one button mouse is weak and useless.

I have to admit that I'm using the MS Office:Mac suite. That solves the .ppt problem neatly, but wouldn't you have to buy Office for your Windows machine also?

So here is why, only my kids (and that is because it's required by their school) have Mac's and I don't
1) they are very expensive compared to a non mac pc.
2) It is a closed system, many things don't work on Mac.
3) There is no real advantage.
4) How many businesses use Mac's?
5) viability of Apple to keep the OS going. If Microsoft didn't invest in them and make Office available they would have been out of business already.
It's a niche product with a limited future.

It is just a smear campaign against Macintosh. Of course they are a bit expensive compared to a Windows-based machine but you get what you pay for - quality. It is by nature of man to despise an individual because he is not conforming to the norm. Envy is the main factor why people hate and create conflicts. I could go on and on but the main argument here is between Macintosh computers and Windows-based machines. Just watch television and the Macintosh commercials. That is truth in advertisement at work. I have a Macintosh and a PC at home, the PC had so many problems big and small and yet the Macintosh hums so quietly next to it without any problem. A Macintosh is a Mac, a PC is still going to called a Piece of Crap. Enough said.

I just switched from PCs to Mac and my only complaint is the lack of software. I'm really happy with my purchase overall though, especially since I no longer get the "blue screen of death". Before Macs, I accepted freezing, bugs, pop-ups, and glitches as an inevitablity. I love my Mac, but sometimes I worry that if I am away from Windows too long as it updates versions, I may no longer be able to troubleshoot it (and it takes a lot), if I ever have the need.

the mouse only has one button. my serious answer? because everything around me is compatible with a PC... even my cell phone and video game console over on the TV. also, because most people have PCs i can easily transfer files or connect with them. i guess you can install Windows on Macs these days with that Intel chip, but whats the point? its not a Mac anymore, right? plus, when my PC gets a little old i can just throw some more memory in there or toss in a different processor. upgradability is key.
you wont find many people that have a Mac and dont also have a PC. they usually also have the PC because their Mac cant do it all.

I can't, simply because it doesn't suck.
The Macintosh has always had a superior OS
The Macintosh has always outperformed PCs
The Macintosh has always had superior architecture
The Macintosh has much fewer security threats
Just becuase the user base is smaller doesn't make it worse. The Mac user base may be a small part of the pie, but lets be relative, its a very big pie!

I like Macs, I think they rock too, but I live in Costa Rica, and they´re just too expensive down here, and repairing one in here is costly, plus not easy to find someone.
Also I study architecture and a lot of programs I need to use don´t run on Mac, only on windows. (Using the interphase to allow me to use the programs in a Mac would make the hole system to slow for the need)

I admit iI use a pc ,it does most off the things I want
as for a Mac only briefly used one ,it didnt do what I wanted
I do not dislike them.
I would like one to work on and see if it will do what I want now
(as in borrow one)

Because they are incompatible with many programs. For example, if I had Mac and wanted to download lecture slides posted by my professor on the university blackboard, I would have to go through extra hassle in order to do that.

There is no argument. Macs are great. They are just not as popular because Apple never licensed their operating system to PC manufacturers, like Bill Gates did. That's how he got rich!

Love mac. I just wanted to see if all the microft employees were trying to get brownie points from Bill.
I do web design, Macs are far superior in producing high quality graphics...
