My friend has been arguing w/ me over this for days.
I keep saying that there is no Jewish "look" that is reliable, and he says someone w/ her looks but a Germanic name is surely Jewish. He says the same applies to Giada de Laurentiis, if her name was for example "Elena Lutzger", (his choice) most people would think she's a (hot) Jewish girl.

Since when does a german sounding last name mean jewish? Thats crazy.... I know rachael rays mothers side is italian and her father all she has said is cajun

It's driving me nuts! I have heard/read that she is of so many different extractions I don't even know which end is up anymore!
But I agree with you. I mean, does Jenna Elfman "look" Jewish?
Maybe your friend is just influenced by the fact that Giada looks so much like Natalie Portman and that's why he thinks she looks Jewish.
Incidentally, I have never thought that Natalie Portman looked Jewish. If anything I would have guessed she was a Catholic from Italy, Sarajevo or Croatia.

I think she is Italian and not German. And i haven't a clue what religion she is. What does it matter?
