Sure, it seems like a sane, rational thing to do. ;)
Just keep in mind that as cutthroat as people are in the workplace, especially all of your "productivity" freaks out there, that you will get treated like *dirt* for "sandbagging". This can mean anything up to and including people getting in your face more than usual, pay cuts, hassles on benefits, and even *not being hired* by people who just won't get it. Not cannot, but *will not*, on purpose even.
Seriously. And last I checked it wasn't answering your own question to *give people enough details to work with*. I thought you were allowed to clarify and to some point expand upon what you're asking there "Hymn".

I guess it's worth a try. Unfortunately a lot of people subject to hpertension will turn any job into high stress, so you might as well make the $$$ if you can. Make sure the new job gives you more time to sleep, relax, and do things you enjoy.

Sure you can work at a job that's not going to stress the hell out of you. There's nothing wrong with that, and everything right with that. Life's too short to be working your tail off and living unhealthily while doing it.
You go! Do what makes you happy! =)

Actually I believe it is!! I was a Bank Manager and left to become a vet tech. I was finding my health was awful with the high stress my position came with. I am much healthier and happier.
