...on my team has developed the habit of swinging the bat all the way around on the follow through, until it hits her opposite shoulder. She has actually developed a severe bruise on the side of her arm because of this. She is a very good contact hitter, so as a coach I don't want to mess with what is working, but on the other hand I don't want her to end up with a bad habit that will end up hurting her in the long run. She is in excellent condition and has no other problems that I can see in her swing. Opinions or Advice is appreciated. Thanks.

everybody has a slightly different swing
but that isn't good if she is getting bruises!

plus she's wasting alot of extra energy.

you have to swing past the point of impact but that far beyond needs work. see if she can stop it even by 10-20 percent.
that way she's still swinging very hard but not hitting herself

If shes doin good like that, let her swing away. Look at all the diff styles there r in the pros.

well i would suggest that u shorten the swinging until just before the sholder.....or put major pads on their arms
