You ain't heard nothin' honey.
I work in a hospital OB department in a large metropolitan area with a diverse ethnic mix. I feel so sorry for some of these kids. They'll never be able to spell their name. No one will be able to pronounce it. And, these are not the foreign born families.
We are seeing more Jack's, Max's, Grace, Lily, so there may be hope yet, but it will take a long time.

After so long the traditional names get boring. Also there are thousands of people with the same names such as Bob, Peter, John, Rebecca, Crystal, and Sarah. I am sure there are people who continue to give their children "normal names." But the names you listed are a hell of a lot better that the ones celebrities are giving their kids. For example: Apple. Who wants to be named after a fruit. How about naming a kid Kiwi or Pineapple. Or what about fruit blends like MangoPeach or StrawberryCranberry. When are we going to see names like that?

Are you saying there is something wrong with Apple, Ryder, Phinneus, Hazel, Coco, Suri, etc. They are all famous stars babies names. Where they came up with them, I'll never know. Hazel is an old name, but the others???
I personally know someone who named their kid, Fisher Danger. The father thought it would be neat for the kid to say, my middle name is Danger. Whatever????
I always wanted names that weren't extremely common, but the names these people are coming up with are totally off the wall. I guess people think that they will definitely have their own name and identity. They don't think about the teasing they will get for it all of their lives.

My kids have normal names... John... Anthony... but some choose "original" names. I teach and in my classes (150 students this year) I have 2 names that are odd. The rest are normal.

I don't see what right someone that is NOT the parent of the child with the "not normal" name to say whether that name is normal or not... Alot of parents want their children to have a 'unique' or different name.. That is their choice, nobody elses. Complaining about it will more then likely NOT change anything..

Yes, people still call their kids well known names. But more unique names are getting popular, and the individuality of unique names are cool.
