When I was going to school in Colorado, I would study at the library all the time. It was a huge library filled with books on, and students studying, practically every subject imaginable. For the library to function, there were administrators, office clerks, IT people, book shelvers, and maintenence. I don't remember any of the higher-ups, but I clearly remember one particular janitor. His name was James.
All of the janitors did a good job; cleaning toilets and vacuuming floors, but somehow James was different. He'd work all day, usually with a smile, greeting familiar faces as he went along. On one particular night of studying in the library, frustrated, tired, and fed up with studying, I went to get a drink of water at the fountain and bumped into James. He stopped and talked with me, talking about studying, about life in general, and about future work. Within a minute or two he changed my whole attitude.
James was just a janitor. Just like the rest of the world. We're all just something small. We're all just ordinary people. But it doesn't mean that you can't do anything extraordinary every day that you live. It might not have seemed extraordinary for James to stop and talk with me, but it changed my whole day. Changed my whole outlook on life.
You may not know it, but if you keep doing good for other people, it can only add value to your own life. And others will notice, and remember. Like I remember James.

Hi, make an appointment with your doctor and obtain some medication like the answerer said above like Prozac or Zoloft. Try and exercise even ten minutes a day. Join a charity group of some sort. Take up a hobby you liked when you were little. You will slowly realise one day nobody can do it for you, you have to believe in yourself because no one else will. Everyone is too caught up in their own daily struggle in life. It does not mean people don't care. You are reaching out now and people are responding in a positive way. Anything negative should be discarded. I believe there is a God and you are not useless, you are unique.. There will never be another you, do what makes you happy without hurting anybody else and you will be content. Also write, keep a journal about your inner most feelings..
Hope you feel better soon..

You do have a life hun - you are asking questions. The entire world is selfish - the Bible tells us In 2 Tim 3:1-5 exaxtly what this world is. And you aren't at fault. Read the Bible and see that God's Kingdom is the only hope for mankind. This wicked system won't last and you won't have to worry about other people. Love God and let his Word guide you.

This may be difficult for you to understand.
Unless you value yourself, your gifts, your talents, your wisdom, your joy, your sorrow, your delight - no one - NO ONE - will value your gift of peace.
You are a peace maker and to be fully appreciated as a peace maker there is only one thing to remember.
Peace.
It doesn't matter that others can't see it; it doesn't matter that others can't accept it; it doesn't matter if you get any sort of recognition or acknowledgment.
You and your soul are and will be remembered; if from no one other than me.
What you are looking for is peace.
You are peace.
You are a peace maker.
Stand still and know that you are.
You. A wonderful creation.
You. A creation of God.
You. A bringer of peace.
Do not look for your justification for living. Just accept that you live. That is your justification. That is your peace. That is what you have to give.
You will not be forgotten.
The secret is not to struggle to be remembered.
You will not be forgotten.

I have learned from experience that it's great to help and please other people but, there comes a time in your life when you have to say to yourself enough is a enough and start looking out for #1 (yourself) I learned along time ago if you please everyone all the time I was soon to be unhappy myself, so I finally learned to say no, not now or I'm sorry but I'm really busy. What really surprised is the people that really understood and if some people don't understand (and there will be some) they were just users not friend to begin with. So, really look out for #1

I used to be the same way until i went to a penticastal church it really helped me find the meaning of life and why I'm living. Don't worry even if you think everyone in the whole world hates you God will ALWAYS love you :) he sacrificed himself for YOU! earth is just a temporary thing but heaven's eternal keep that in mind.

God has a plan for you. Go with your heart and choose your path and give everything you have to achieve itand you will feel so good about yourself.
Most People care, they just take people for granted. In times of trouble you find out who your real friends are.

A history question, hmmm. lemme see now, your feeling of 'aloneness' has something to do with the evolution of your (our) genes. Being alone in the universe is facing objective reality, a reality without purpose and without a higher being. Yep, you're right, it is pretty depressing when you have to face the grim reality of our utter death and annihilation...
