The computer monitor if it is a cathode ray tube type generates a strong electromagnetic field which can interfer with the performance of a lithium ion cell. This type of battery is rather delicate and if you have been watching the news you know that a malfunctionig cell can produce a fire. The fire produced is not just burning plastic, the battery will produce hydrogen and oxygen gases which is the most flammable combination in the universe I.E. NASA uses it for rocket fuel! You should be careful where you leave your phone!
