what if she snaps when she has too much to drink and breaks your bones etc.flips out and breaks glass and throws all your clothes in the garbage or burns them in the firepit?and mentally exhausts you , BUT? You Love her more than Life itself.We have children who have seen such flippings. But I so LOVE.,,,,,,,,

time to dry out, if she's dangerous when she's drunk, she needs to go dry or learn moderation, children should never see those episodes.

She needs serious professional help. I might even suggest a trip to the home for the terminally woozy.As children are involved,their welfare comes first.End of story.

I suggest your woman seek psychiatric treatment as soon as possible.
It could be due to depression, manic depression, or a case of mismanaged anger. Maybe it is due to a chemical imbalance in her brain or due the stressful circumstances that triggers her condition.
Medication is important.
The caregiver needs to be patient with her.
Avoid situations that stress her unnecessarily.
Let her see a counsellor too.

You have to get her help and NOW. What if she hurt the children. Could you live with that?
