That's an experience.
I did once when I was a student (no money), and believe me, it wasn't pleasure. At that time, airplane tickets were very expensive, but now, it will cost you almost the same.
From the border, take a taxi or local bus to the bus terminal.
ABC will take you to La Paz, and from there you will have to take another bus To Cabo San Lucas or San Jose del Cabo, depending where are you going to stay.
From Tijuana to La Paz will take 24 hours, and will make several stops where you can buy food and water and use restrooms, or take enough food and drinks with you.
Luxury buses are available but cost almost double, they have air conditioner and TV where the bus driver will play some old and bad movies.
You will have to consider also the person next to you.
Take the plane!!

By Bus: Buses starting in Tijauna, about 1,000 miles to the north, can take 22-30 hours to chug into Cabo San Lucas. Autotransportes de Baja California (ABC) (+011 52 664 683 5681) and Tres Estrellas de Oro (+011 52 66 26 1701) both service Baja's southern tip.
