The Dallas City Council is trying to pass a ban on pants that hang too low. Is this completly ludicrous or a step in the right direction? Is this more important than our rising crime rates, the increase in illegal aliens or the fact our fire fighters and teachers are very poorly paid compared to other large cities? Are sagging pants worse than wearing gang colors or women exposing thier cleavage or satanic clothing? I think Hitler would be proud, we pick up his smoking bans, force kids in to uniforms like he wanted and now a city wants to ban a style of clothing, i thought we won WWII

good point lancelot682005, give teachers and parents control, if a school wants to ban sagging, great. If parents want to great, im talking about the city, and this is not enforcing a basic law (like jaywalking), which im all for, this is creating a law

Utterly and completely ridiculous! I would hope that the leaders of this country would have much more important issues on their minds than how young boys are wearing their pants.
Where will all this madness end? I thought this was a FREE country! No one has the right to tell another how they should dress as long as all of the inappropriate parts are covered.
Personally, I would much rather they outlaw short shorts and skirts. The ones where the woman's butt hangs out. Sadly to many of the women/girls that wear these have cellulite and it's not attractive!

I think it is a start int eh right direction...

I think you need to give parent's their power back and allow the teachers to get control...

I think that kids need a LOT more controls. we would have a lot less problems...

It was kind of like this..
In New York City: they started enforcing jaywalking laws and the basic of laws. The serious ones started declining.. Why? Because they knew the police where serious.

We need to get back to that...

With other problems plaguing the U.S. I would hope they would not be serious. But if they are the only thing wrong about sagging is if you show too much *** and by then you are just dragging your pants

that does not make sense i don't understand why the dfd would do that. and you make a very good point about gang colors and women's clothing.
