Hello, well, thanks for helping out.

Anyway, I'm going to start college very soon, and I'm wondering what would be the best for college: A tote bag, a messenger bag, or a regular backpack. Oh, I also have a laptop, so how can I manage to carry everything the best way?

Thank you so much for your time!

When I went to college I just had a regular backpack. Studies have proven that carrying to much weight on only one shoulder can cause back problems. You will probly be walking from class to class and need to carry more than one subject book at a time so a regular backpack is probly best. They might possibly make a bag that carries laptop and books at the same time! Check out your campus bookstore and see what they have! :) Good luck!

Rolling backpack made for laptops or having a laptop compartment. The College coursebooks are VERY Heavy most of the time, and I remember the back pain from having to lug that stuff and having it rest on my shoulders (and that was before Laptops and Desktops and just about any computers except for big buildings of tubes).

I would say that it is personal preference. This semester I am not taking a bag at all. Of course, I go to a small college and just walk back and forth to my car between classes. Usually I carry a messenger bag though, just because I like it. Find something that suits you well and is comforatable to carry around all day.

You should carry the backpack for your books, and the messenger bag for your laptop.

i would get a backpack because you're going to walk around a bit to get to your classes. and, of course, you can fit so much in it. but if you like tote bags look, then get it. i wouldn't get the messenager bag. so either the backpack or the tote bag.

i personally perfer the backpack.

Try a rolling tote. They make ones that is large enough to fit your books and stuff for the day and have a space for your laptop. That's the best way to save you from back troubles later on down the road.

I like the rolling bags or backpack. Books and laptops get pretty heavy over time.

Get a slip-cover for your laptop. Carry it along with your other materials in a rubber-bottomed Jansport backpack. They are expensive, but they are very stylish and tough. I can almost promise you there will be people asking you where they can get one like yours. That's exactly what happened to me. Unfortunately, I got mine at a factory outlet and didn't want to tell people that I paid $20 for a $85 backpack, or where I got it.

Backpack for sure - this will be the easiest on your back for those heavy books in addition to the computer. Plus, with a backpack you can place the laptop in a separate section and it will be safe.
