it will always be there, there's nothing you can do about it, why won't people just deal with it and get along?

Fear. Either:
(1) fear of being attacked, sued, etc. due to the laws and the P/C attitudes present, or
(2) fear of being forced to confront their own feelings about race/bigotry...

The only people that I see being uptight about race are the black people. Whites and browns couldn't care less about the color of skin.

Same way with religion. Some things will never be agreed upon. And some things cannot be understood. (at least not by a dummy like me!)

b/c you can get sued, fired, demoted or otherwise punished if somebody takes offense.
