I live in a mobile and the bathroom walls are of type of cheap wood that looks like paneling without the grouves. The walls are now sticky from the contact. I've used acetone, paint remover, alcohol, mineral spirits to no avail. What is out there that will remove this? I want to seal and paint the walls.

I forgot to mention that I used Goof off too. This isn't regular wallpaper glue, it almost feels plastic like, Soap and water doesn't work and no, I will not use gasoline, even if it would work. Thanks for all your input tho.

Drywall has to be the answer. I guess I knew it all along, just didn't want to do it.

you might consider just putting dry wall over ,it may save your time and sanity. plus it will thicken your wall and make it more sound prove. might cost more than remover but you know it will look new with fresh paint.

There is a product pre-wipe or sometimes prepsol which is used for cleaning cars bodywork before painting. Any good auto store will sell it and it will disolve the adhesive. Wear rubber gloves and try a small area first.

there is a special product and you can buy it from walmart that removes this stuff. i am not sure how much you have to remove, as the bottles are kind of small of this stuff. can you just sand it down? and then use primer paint and then put the top coat of regular paint? go on the do-it-yourself forums (DIY chat), and ask this question, too, and see what they come up with.

have you tried using a blowdryer set on the highest heat setting and scrapping with a putty knife. commercial heat guns are avalable at most tool rental places such as U-Haul.

After using the heat and scrape method, use acetone or mineral oil to remove the small stuff.

If you have used all these products, and they have not worked. I would just sand the wall(s) with sand paper. This will get rid of the stickiness and make the walls smooth for painting. Good luck

Try "Diff". You mix it with warm water and sponge it on, then wipe off. It will work on normal wall paper glue, unsure on what you have. You can buy it a paint stores or hardware stores.
