it was dark . when i turned around this thing in front of me was glowing. i didn,t know what it was so i hit it with my truck latter i found a piece in the truck bed and it was still glowing so i tried to take a picture but it wouldn,t show up. it was freaky

I guess you saw a phosperescent fungi commonly known as Foxfire. Assuaged all your fears already?

The decomposition of a tree causes a glow often referred to as foxfire. It can have 2 causes phosphouresence from bacteria and fungi and the heat of decomposition. The latter can even result in spontaneous combustion!

some bacteria make chemicals that do that. There's even a bacterium that causes wounds to glow. it produces an antibiotic that can help wound healing.

Its called FOXFIRE. It is basically heat from decomposing (composting) tree material working its way thorugh the remaining vegetation.

are bats nesting in it? I remember hearing something about bat pee being slightly flourescent. if it was night, the bats would have been out and maybe the headlights of your truck reflected it?

it could be anything from lichens to fireflies
