All those people who are saying that pregnant mom's need to gain weight are right, but this book doesn't say that you should NOT gain weight. It just says that you should gain appropriate weight. It breaks down the "oh, I am pregnant and can eat anything and have people serve me" myth.
I have not purchased this book and think $30 is a little high for the "system". But if you are the kind of person who will follow a plan like this, it seems like a good thing. The only thing that I would worry about is that it relies on a lot of self-monitoring for the exercises. You have to be aware of your position instead of having a class instructor correct your position. You might be better off taking a prenatal aerobics or yoga class or a water aerobic class at your local YMCA.
I do think the principles she outlines are true however. With my first child I ate well and exercised. I only gained about 25 pounds. My labor wasn't that bad (7 hours of labor, 15 minutes pushing). The weight came off pretty easily and I felt great. With my second baby, I didn't exercise or eat like I should. I still only gained about 30 pounds, but I was much more tired and uncomfortable with the pregnancy. I don't think that this site has any miracles, but it sounds like it might be a good resource if you are willing to work for a fit pregnancy.

If you stick to a reasonable diet and exercise routine-pounds should not become an issue. I developed gestational diabetes and worked with a dietician to keep my weight down and only gained 24 pounds and I am 40 weeks now. Treat yourself to whatever you want, but in moderation. I would not purchase some bogus kit for an outragous amount of money that does no more than what your doctor can do.

Excellent question. For myself, I wouldn't do it. You are supposed to gain a certain amount of weight while you are pregnant, it is necessary for the baby to be healthy. Also bear in mind that your weight gain during pregnancy is mostly water, water retention, and the liquid that your baby lives in. I would rather put on weight during my pregnancy when the only thing that matters is a healthy baby, and then work to lose extra weight after the baby is born. Also, the way this product is promoted doesn't sit well with me. "Fat and unattractive" do not go hand in hand. I have come across beautiful women who are not at a perfect height/weight ratio. So if it were my decision, I would pass on this product without a backwards glance. Hope my view helps with you decision, and good luck!

Don't even worry about the word pounds and definitely don't waste any money. Your goal here is to have the healthiest pregnacy possible to give birth to a healthy little baby. Take care of the two of you first and foremost!

You should gain as much weight as your doctor recommends. It could be dangerous to yourself and the baby to try to remain too thin during pregnancy. Exercise and eat healthy food throughout your pregnancy and you will be well on your way to getting back to your pre-birth weight. Also, nursing helps to shrink the uterus which causes your stomach to flatten.

definetly not! you know the old saying, " if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is." that can't be healthy for mother or baby. there's nothing wrong with gaining weight while pregnant, as long as you don't go overboard and put yourself and the baby at risk. women do it all the time.

It's all lies. you're going to gain weight no matter what and even if they found some way to it wouldn't be healthy.

Why pay for something that your doctor and a nutritionist is able to tell you.
