can i swap in a distributor from a 360 amc into a 401amc engine?

the 360 v8 is a 72 wagoneer engine and the 401 v8 is a 78 wagoneer engine there both motorcraft distributors.

i have noticed a lot of people i here that are mainly yes people just in order to get the 2 points. call your local salvage yard and ask them if the two will interchange. the gear on the bottom of the two will tell you.
