Depends on the age and sex. If it's a girl, perhaps she's preparing for puberty.

well depends on age and sex, and so on..it could be a growth spurt, or often times your left breast will hurt if you have asthma or bad allergies and your having an attacke...if it is more often it could even be something like heart burn..more info is really needed here.

You could check for lumps , it could happen. I was 17 when I discovered a lump in my breast.
