There is no ride at Cedar Point called Shivering Timbers, it is called Mean Streak.
To answer your question, Yes it is worth it! Cedar Point has been voted Best amusement Park in the WORLD for like the last 10 years. And yes, they do have a fast pass kind of system for some of the busier rides.
HOWEVER... when are you going? It is definitely not as busy around now when the college kids all start going back to school. There are singing and dancing shows all Summer but once school starts it seems like that kind of entertainment gets shut down due to lack of performers. They also are only open on weekends I think starting after Labor Day. HAVE FUN!!!!! Make SUre you ride the Dragster!

If you like Roller Coasters, yes. If not, then it's like a large ValleyFair (is that still the name for that park in Shakopee). You are better off going on a weekday than a weekend. It gets too crowded on Saturdays and Sundays.
One thing to note is that Cedar Point has what they call the "Running of the Bulls", which means that they sometimes open the park early. So be prepared when the gates open to make a mad dash.
If you want to get the most out of the roller coasters, go for the bigger rides first when the park is not so packed, you may actually get onto the coaster in less than an hour.
Also, pick out a good place to stay. There are several water parks opening up in that area and you might want to find some other things to do in the area. Sandusky is on the lakeshore of Beautiful Lake Erie (and it's pretty nice in that area).
Have fun!
ADDITIONAL NOTE: I recommend staying away from Shivering Timbers. It's a wooden coaster at the back of the park. I got a headache from riding it because of the jerking around that your head does on that ride.

O.k I was going to say the lines are horrible and they are (itleast the last time I went long long time ago. Mid week that should help a bunch. Hopefully they have a fast pass type system. Maybe someone out there can aswer that. If your camping there can you get access to the rides earlier then most peeps. Find that out also. That would be great. Good Luck! Have Fun!

Gas prices make it debatable, but I would go. Make sure you ride Top Thrill Dragster, it makes the whole trip worth it. Oh and there is no Shivering Timbers, it is called the Mean Streak and always has been. It is rough but if you like wood coasters you will like it. Also ride Disaster Transport, it may seem like a wimpy ride...but it is really a lot of fun and something unlike you have ever rode.

YES, YES, YES!! I live in Ohio and go there a couple times a year. It is the best amusement park in the world!! (according to me) Seriously, this time of year is good too. You can go to the amusement park, rent jet skis and parasail on the lake. It's close to Put-in-Bay (go there, it's awesome if you are "of age"), and all kinds of little island wineries. They have an awesome campground, but you can't have tents. I give it two thumbs up!

ok, I genuinely love Cedar aspect! So, no matter if it is your first time, the park is mind-blowing! I initiate off on the lower back and paintings my way up. Millennium stress and Maverick are the large ones lower back there. make sensible you hit all of them. when you're staying at one in all their lodges, you get in an hour before. So, do Maverick first. that's their latest roller coaster and stands proud because the busiest. Then proper Thrill Dragster stands proud because the subsequent busiest, then Millennium. I continually initiate off with the Raptor, then i'll quite slightly do something else. that's not extraordinarily huge, yet an excellent starter. holiday Dragster the most. when you're any bit intimidated, in basic terms get on and holiday it. it will be the ideal difficulty you've performed! Dunno which one to holiday the most although. relies upon on your style in rides. nicely, have an excellent time!!!!!

well i live in Ohio and i really love cedar point. the rush from the rides if the best.
i think you should at least experience it at least once.....
the best day to go is Wednesday...its the least crowdest then.....
if there is a ride you want to go to go there first...because the "big ones" will take forever....top thrill and millennium force...*if you want to go to top thrill first...tell them you are going to soak city and park back there...its really close to where the ride is
