Armpits, as well as the genitals, produce pheremones, which attract the opposite sex. Most people find the smell of body odor to be erotic on the opposite sex, so these "ewww" and "gross" responses are likely being made by underdeveloped, preteen girls who haven't matured to appreciate or understand human sexuality. Most women are actually comforted and relaxed when around a strong masculine scent. None of this implies dirty or unwashed, mind you--body odor can be repugnant if left to it's own devices.

tis normal for me i like my husbands armpits they always smell good the scent of freshness is very appealing to me
